Fine Motor Skills

Fine motor or dexterity is the coordination of small muscle movements. It is the synchronization of hands and fingers with the eyes. Fine motor skills are essential for performing everyday skills like cutting, self care tasks and pencil skills.

Below are two links to websites that explain in more detail the importance of developing fine motor skills and some practical hands-on activities your child can do to develop these skills. One that we like is the use of a stylus when using an iPad, not their finger.
